A member of the Ateliers d’Art de France, winner of the national prize of AAF in 2012 and a graduate of the Aurum School in Zurich, where she studied jewelry making, Yasmin Yahya creates contemporary jewelry in precious metals. Born in London to an Indian father and a Swiss mother, she has lived in France since the age of sixteen and currently resides in Brittany. Each piece is handcrafted by Yasmin Yahya in her workshop in Saint Avé (Morbihan, Brittany). Her material of choice is fairtrade silver, which she uses for its suppleness, softness, and aesthetic potential, sometimes in combination with gold. She also uses specific techniques such as Mokume-gane, a Japanese metalworking procedure dating from the seventeenth century, which was used in the manufacture of sabre blades. She is one of the few people in France to have mastered this technique, which is rarely used in the West. Sectors of activities Precious metal / vermeil Universes Men Women
