GAHK was formed by a group of FGA in Hongkong, with major objective to promote gemmology to the public and to the trade, seeing that Hongkong was getting to play very important role in the World gemstone trading yet at that time, business were done purely on experiences of individuals and gemmology were rarely talked about. The GAHK produces an annual journal with articles from renowned gemmologists both in the region and from around the world.
