The Japan Jewellery Association (JJA) is a public-service association that represents the Japanese jewellery industry. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Health. Labour and Welfare, the Japan Mint, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and related industry organizations, the JJA is dedicated to both the domestic and international development of the Japanese jewellery industry. The JJA is composed of regular members, organizational regular members, and supporting members. Regular members are companies, cooperatives and other corporate bodies engaged in the import, export, manufacture, wholesale and retail of jewellery. There are about 840 corporate regular members and 14 organizational regular members. Supporting members include the Japan Pearl Promotion Society, Japan Gold Metal Association and the Japan Watch Importers Association. Supporting members also include jewellery schools, companies engaged in jewellery import and export, gem identification laboratories and others.
