Geneva Importers was established in the early 1950s in Invercargill, under the name of "Geneva Material Importers". Initially the company supplied watch material to the many watchmakers throughout New Zealand.
In 1972 the company was moved to Christchurch by the new owner Mr Russell Leary. In 1990 Russell's daughter Karen Guglietta joined the company and a further shift was made to Wanaka in 2001. With the retirement of Russell in 2014 full ownership is now with Karen.
Business has diversified over the years and products offered now include tools and equipment for servicing the jewellery and watchmaking industries, as well as products for the retailer to sell.
