Georgian Emerald And Natural Pearl Necklace

A rare Georgian emerald and natural pearl necklace, believed to date from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is set with numerous natural emeralds and natural pearls in a graduated, articulated festoon design, with suspended emerald drops and pearl spacers throughout. The emeralds are a mix of square cut and emerald cut stones, the largest measuring approximately 2.00 ct. The gold tests at approximately 16 ct to 17 ct, consistent with early gold jewellery where alloy standards vary from modern hallmarking.
